Simply sumptuous. This non-floral specialty honey is sourced from delicious sparkling dewdrops found on the tree bark in our fragrant alpine Black Beech Forests. The luxurious dark earthy tone and smooth velvet texture is enhanced by the fresh mountain aroma. Rich depth of alpine flavour sits perfectly balanced on the palate, reminiscent of honeysuckle nectar, wild berries, and lingering caramel. Harvested using our unique methods to produce exceptional pure honey, this melt-in-the-mouth honey is true indulgence.

Enjoy a magical stroll in our New Zealand Black Beech forest. Inhale the sweet aroma of Beech dewdrops found on the tree bark. Dappled light dances high in the treetops, luscious green undergrowth stretches out like a carpet over the damp mossy forest floor. Look carefully and you'll see bees foraging hundreds of sparkling dewdrops hanging from tiny threadlike stems on the Black Beech bark. Sample the delectable sweet drops yourself, a similar taste to honeysuckle nectar. Every 7 years, tiny red flowers adorn the Beech trees. Our bees work diligently all summer gathering these precious dewdrops to make this gorgeous runny honey. Made by nature to tantalize your taste buds.

EXTRA INFORMATION:
Our exclusive Mountain Beech Honey is bursting with naturally occurring goodness. This remarkable sweet dew is produced by an insect. Bees love collecting it to make this fragrant honey. Our Mountain Beech Honey is different to floral honey where it is filled with naturally occurring elements, such as high levels of Oligosaccharides, also known as naturally occurring prebiotic compounds.

An interesting fact about Beech honey is it is one of New Zealand's biggest exports to Germany, with it's luscious runny goodness much loved by German consumers.

Here is what the experts say:

“The bioactive compounds content of honeydew honey is very high, comparing to other types of honey. Its antibacterial activity is evidenced by the bacterial growth inhibition for 10 strains of Staphyloccocus aureus.” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, 2008.

“Honeydew honey has a higher amino acid composition and disease-fighting antioxidant capacity.” Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2006
